Types of Hearing Aids
There are several different types of hearing aids that are available for our doctors to select from. The type and severity of hearing loss will determine the style of hearing aid that is available to each patient.
This type of hearing aid sits complete within the ear canal. Most are partially visible, and visibility can depend on the anatomy of the wearer’s ear. Ear impressions are required for a custom fit.
This type of hearing aid is larger than CIC. They can either be “half-shell” or “full-shell” (determined by hearing loss need), and sit within the ear. Ear impressions are required for a custom fit.
This type of hearing aid sits behind the ear. It is connected with a tube to an earmold that sits within the ear. The ear mold can be clear or a custom color of the patient’s choosing. Ear impressions are required for a custom fit.
